I agree with you that centralising appears to be counterproductive as local knowledge is so useful.

		<description>Hi Su, here at Bryant Priest Newman we have also noticed a change.  Referrals are less frequent, despite traffic to our website remaining at a consistent level.  We are aware that our local branch of the RIBA is no longer giving direct referrals and are instead directing enquiries to the client services office in London - yet another stumbling block for potential clients.  It&#039;s not clear if this is something that the West Mids branch have decided to change, or whether the restructuring of client services stretches further than changes to the online database.</description>
