13.30 Introduce the afternoon session Rob Pearce
13.40 Breakout Groups – World café style (35 mins / 20 mins / 15 mins) – two facilitators each
1. Business models
· What is needed to make CE in construction become business as usual?
· Are there models for Infrastructure Projects and for Built Environment Projects ? –could the sectors learn and share ?
· Are some components or parts of the construction process more easily suited to benefit from CE than others?
· Do you know of successful examples that should be more widely shared?
· Are there specific parts of the construction supply chain that can benefit from CE?
· What factors are seen to be restricting the pace at which industry can adopt CE?
Facilitators: Mike Wray (KTN) and Simon Sturgis

2. Design & Construction for circularity
· Are there benefits for the designers and constructors in adopting CE for infrastructure and built environment projects?
· What do designers and the supply chain need – information, design tools, etc – to deliver CE outcomes?
· Dodifferent design disciplines need different info and tools?
· May designers and constructors depend on clients and developers demanding CE in the industry to make it happen?
Facilitators: Nitesh Magdani and Howard Button

Looks like you're having a great event there #CEThinking it's an important topic for our sector! @SuButcher
— Prof. (Dr.) Jacqueline Glass (@profjacquiglass) February 12, 2016
3. Material & Product circularity
· How can industry promote reuse/recycle /reduce for differing values of material & product?
· How does industry promote secondary markets for components, products and raw materials?
· What can the supply chain do with components or products that are obsolescent or actually obsolete at end of life?
· What materials can be up-cycled?
· Are there 10 changes that will make a big difference?
Facilitators: Katherine Adams and Jane Thornback
Katherine has been working closely with the construction sector for 15 years providing advice and guidance on materials resource efficiency. This has involved numerous activities including the development of Resource Efficiency Action Plans, a methodology for measuring waste to landfill, responsibility for BRE’s SMARTWaste system and a secondment to Defra. Katherine is now using all this knowledge and expertise by now undertaking a PhD at Loughborough University on looking how to apply circular economy in the built environment.

4. Measurement of circularity
· There are some existing measurement methodologies, standards in development, and maybe emerging tools, are they appropriate or do they need changing / evolving?
· What R&D on tools and methodologies in CE is most needed?
· How can circularity measures be developed that can be included in established standards such as BREEAM or perhaps even Building Regulations?
· Are there measures for Infrastructure projects , and for Built Environment projects? – can they use the same measures ?
Facilitators: Gilli Hobbs and Luca Petruccelli (Granta)
