As we enter the Christmas period it’s a good time to reflect on what we’ve done and what we plan to do next year. Looking back, I’ve had my busiest year ever with some really interesting results from the consultancy work and some great live blogs (which I’ll write about next week). As for looking forward, the diary is already filling up and I know many of you have asked about our Training Workshops at the Building Centre and if we’ll be doing them again.
I’m delighted to say that the Building Centre have asked me to run the programme again this year, so we’ll be starting in February when you’ve had time to get over the Christmas break and get back into the work frame of mind.
Here’s the programme for Spring 2015. If you click through the links you’ll see that all the workshops are currently available at an Early Bird Rate and the workshop rates haven’t gone up from 2014.

Social Media Strategy Workshop: 24 February 2015
A one-day workshop to help you make a series of key decisions that set out a path to a more effective, time efficient and successful use of social media.
The workshop is particularly suitable for decision makers in companies who have been trying out social media for some time but are not seeing any results. We begin from first principles and flesh out an approach that allows you to join the dots and see what is working. If you’re fed up with your agency not bringing results, or if you want to understand the process, get a handle on an intangible, and set up your own strategy, this workshop is for you. Former attendees include in-house marketing professionals and MDs too.

LinkedIn for Professionals Workshop: 19 March 2015
A one-day workshop devised especially for construction professionals who want to use LinkedIn strategically and effectively.Linkedin is the first platform I trained on and it remains the most popular. There are over 700,000 construction professionals on Linkedin and over 14 million monthly users in the UK alone.
This workshop is particularly suitable for client-facing employees who need to use LinkedIn to engage with clients, advocates and fellow professionals as part of their role. People attend for themselves, or send their sales people. I also offer this workshop in house if you’ve got a team of 5 or more.

Twitter for Professionals Workshop: 14 April 2015
A one-day workshop devised especially for construction professionals who want to use Twitter strategically and effectively.
The workshop is particularly suitable for client-facing employees who need to use Twitter to engage with clients, advocates and fellow professionals as part of their role. It integrates in particular with the Blogging workshop; Twitter and Blogging are very effective partners.
Many of the people who came to this workshop were running corporate accounts, but in house I’ve been training more individual professionals how to use twitter to keep up relationships with clients.

Blogging for Professionals Workshop: 21 May 2015
A one-day workshop devised especially for construction professionals who want to learn how to blog consistently and effectively.
The workshop is particularly suitable for professionals with expertise to share who need to learn how to blog as part of a wider social media strategy. Many people who come to my strategy workshop tend to send other members of staff to attend the blogging workshop as the next step in their strategy.
By the end of the session participants will have written their first blog post and have a stash of ideas for other posts, the beginning of a content plan and a clear direction for where their blog should be going and how to get there.
